More information about the Smart Way Reading and Spelling program, one of the very first to be entirely modeled after the congressionally-commissioned National Reading Panel recommendations of how to effectively teach reading, may be seen at the Learning Systems section. A direct derivative online version, Phonics interative Education (PiE), is available for licensing to schools as well as individuals and groups wishing to better the academic achievement of students.
Bright Sky Learning Multi-sensory Educational Programs are secular, neutral and non-ideological in nature.
Bright Sky Learning is engaged in the business of creating, developing, marketing, licensing and utilizing educational curriculum and testing materials, for, among other things, beginning and intervention program implementation, primarily for youth and adults who are just learning, or are below proficiency levels and struggling in, reading and mathematics.
The Bright Sky LearningTM language arts methodology includes our proprietary Smart Way Reading and Spelling® systematic and explicit foolproof phonics program, that has proven, time and time again, to increase the reading ability of students. A direct derivative online version of Smart Way is also available.
One of the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act is allowing organizations outside the traditional school district to provide services to students who attend schools that are not meeting certain standards and where the students, themselves, are below proficiency in reading and/or math. These valuable Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are free to the student.
Bright Sky Learning is an approved SES provider currently delivering services to students in California and Missouri and has operated other grant-supported programs in numerous cities. Several thousand students have benefited from Bright Sky Learning tutoring services bringing students, on average, from the 25th percentile (well below age and grade level) to the 50th percentile (at age level) in approximately 35 hours in both reading and mathematics.
